Ep 92 - The Church Split responds to Progressive vs Conservative Christians - Abortion, Marriage, Slavery

A channel called Jubilee has a series they call "Middle Ground". In one of their videos they invite 3 conservative Christians and 3 progressive Christians on to discuss divisive topics including: Abortion, Republican Party, LGBTQ, marriage, BLM, the Bible, and if the other side misrepresents Christianity. We respond to the arguments and claims made on both sides with truth and humor.

Ep 93 - The Church Split Responds to Pastors Making Character Attacks

We were not intending to do another episode regarding Pastor Nathan Rager, however he went on Liberty Baptist Church's YouTube channel with Pastor Tommy McMurtry and they both spent a considerable amount of the video attacking several people in the church including The Church Split. Since there were so many mischaracterizations, personal character attacks, and name calling, we felt compelled to respond to a portion of this video.

Ep 90 - Common Morality Objections to God in the OT - Slavery, Woman, Laws, Genocide

We host Dr. Paul Copan on the channel speaking about his book "Is God a Moral Monster". We examine several arguments people levy against God, the Bible, and especially the Old Testament. Dr. Copan talks about what the Bible really is talking about with regards to Slavery, Woman, Laws, and Genocide. His explanations show how different Israel was from the surrounding nations and that even though some of these english words might be the same as modern concepts, the context was often quite different.

Ep 88 - Pastor Rager RESPONDS to our REBUTTAL videos - We discuss RFP, Alcohol, Clothing, & Music

Pastor Nathan R. Rager comes on the channel to respond to our rebuttal of his Podcast "Fundamental Thunder". The interview gets pretty heated once we bring up reason we found his podcast in the first place, his public spat with the Recovering Fundamental Podcast on Twitter. We do get past the discussion about RFP (so bare with us) and do get into substantive subjects like Alcohol, Clothing, and Music. While there isn't a lot of common ground found with Pastor Rager, we hope viewers and listeners can see the arguments for each side of these discussions and also see how to work through strong disagreements and to keep bringing it back to the Bible. We can agree that truth is objective and all truth is God's truth.

Ep 86 - Pastor describes a CHURCH SPLIT and how LEGALISM takes many forms in different denominations

We have Pastor Joseph Salmoiraghi on the channel where he describes a church split in his Berean Fellowship church. He talks about what led up to this split, how the former pastor even became involved, how he and the other members handled the division, and the time of disunity ended. Pastor Joseph also discusses his early years in the church being an extreme charismatic. You will see just like the IFB and Progressive Christianity, the Assembly of God churches he attended use similar reasons to keep their members from questioning legalism and keeping them in their echo chamber.

Ep 84 - Interview of Will Hess (Thank you for 1000 Subscribers)

As promised, now that we hit 1000 YouTube subscribers we have released an in depth interview of Will Hess himself. Will discusses his childhood and being raised in an abusive home while also attending the IFB church. He talks about his early run-ins with legalism and how he decided to be a pastor. He goes into detail about his escapades at both Bible colleges and how those situations really allowed him to see legalism and learn to focus on God's word and not man's. One of the most well known Molinists, author and apologist Dr. Tim Stratton comes on The Church Split to talk about his book "Human Freedom, Divine Knowledge, and Mere Molinism", his walk with Christ, and common objections to molinism. Tim discusses his time as a "cage stage" Calvinist and how examining the truth of the Bible after being confronted by College students converted him away from determinism to molinism.

What is swearing? Is it cultural? What is "offensive language"? We get into this taboo subject as Christians debate this all the time. We discuss how language might be holding you back from giving the gospel and reaching new Christians. We also address Pastor Jeff Durbin's "The Woke Church" sermon where he swears.
