Will interviews a missionary about the current state of missions in the world, why proper doctrine and apologetics are needed for today's missionaries and how the church may hurt its missions goals. Vincent talks about loosing much of his missionary support for simply researching other doctrines to understand them better.

Will and Brian tackle the tough topic of Christian Modesty. We examine the extremes on both sides of this topic and show both ends of the spectrum are using clothing and dress standards (or lack thereof) to focus on the self and feigning godliness through self display. Will and Brian have been huge fans of Dr. White's work for years including his debates against Unitarians, Progressive Christians, Atheists, Mormons, Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, and others. His book, The King James Only Controversy, has helped many, including Will Hess himself escape the legalistic doctrine of King James Onlyism. We ask Dr. White some of our own questions as well as questions from followers of The Church Split.

One of our most requested topics, Will dives into the controversies over music in Christian culture. This episode attempts to respond to all common music objections from timing, to syncopation, to instruments, to origin, to lyrics, and more. Will also breaks out some of his instruments for some of his examples.

Ep 136 - KJVO Debate Response

Cody Zorn hosted Nathan Cravatt of the RFP and Mitch Canupp to debate on King James Onlyism. It was such a bad debate (format, questions, and the pro-KVJO side) that we felt it needed a response. This is a response to the debate as a whole and specifically the arguments made by Mitch Canupp on the pro-KVJO side. Nathan did a great job and we didn't replay any of his arguments due to mostly the style of the debate format.

Will and Brian guest host the Recovering Fundamentalist Podcast (RFP) and dive into IFB College Rule Books. This is part 1 of a 2 part series on IFB College Rules. In this episode we examine the rulebooks from Great Plains Baptist College (Bill Reeve's Bible College) and Fairhaven Bible College. We examine these rules pretending to be influenced by the Bible, rules that apply to men and women differently, rules about what age you can marry, interracial dating, hairstyles, mandatory employment, and much much more! Ep 131 - A Conversation about Philosophy with David Pallmann

In Will's second interview with David Pallmann, they get into philosophy and specifically epistemology, the study of knowledge and truth. They discuss how we can know truth, and by what mechanisms do we determine what is true. They discuss the differences between internalism and externalism. This is an important deep dive that will help as you interact with other Christians with different ideas, but as well with non-Christians. Put your thinking caps on for this and determine your own methods for determining what is true!

Ep 127 - Leaving the IFB and Anti-Intellectualism in the Church

David Pallmann describes his time in an IFB college and how he discovered the anti-intellectualism of the IFB, the college leaders, and his professors. He was on fire for God and excited to learn in-depth about the Bible, the nature of truth, and doctrine. Through this desire he became a thorn in the side of the college which resulted in a standoff with the college leadership.
